About
Vertis is a Fife-based alternative rock band which was formed by Alan Gilliland-Patterson in September 2008. The idea has always been to create unique and exciting music that is still widely accessible.
Since forming, Vertis have played all over Scotland in many prestigious venues including Glasgow Barrowlands and the Carnegie Hall. As well as this they have received glowing reviews from the press and record labels including the News of the World who called Vertis a ‘hidden gem’. Vertis were also chosen, from over 500 acts, to appear on Fourtrak Record’s Homecoming Scotland album which featured the ‘best of new Scottish bands and artists’. This buzz led to radio play from many student stations as well as Edinburgh’s very own Leith FM and a ‘release of the month’ nomination from Glasgow’s King Tuts for their debut E.P. release In My Defence. In June 2010, Alan called a hiatus for the band. A year on and Vertis return with news of their second E.P. which will be called Loose Lips Sink Ships. Watch this space…
